Venue and Ticketing

Summerhall

Our main festival venue is Summerhall Arts Centre, which contains a range of inspiring and unusual performance spaces, thanks to its origins as a veterinary training college. Venues such as ‘Anatomy’, ‘Dissection Room’ and ‘The Old Lab’, all within Summerhall, will provide a dramatic background to our events.

On arriving at the festival please come to the main Summerhall reception area and volunteers can guide you to the appropriate venue for your shows.

Summerhall Main Hall during Push the Boat Out is designed as a space of meeting and connection. We’ll have desks set up for Volunteers, to support any Accessibility needs, to explore our Installations, and of course, to browse and buy our fabulous artists’ works in our Festival Bookshop, run by Lighthouse Books. If you have any questions at all throughout your visit to Push the Boat Out, find the team in the Main Hall and we’ll do what we can to help.

For all venue-related information please see Summerhall’s website HERE

Push The Boat Out will go ahead in keeping with whatever Covid-19 regulations are in place on the 15 – 17 October in Scotland. Born out of a time of turbulence, the festival team, venue, founders and friends will continue to manage the festival in a safe and agile way. While our aim is to present our events in person to live audiences, with our varied program of film, audio, walks and installations we are confident that we will be able to present a version of Push the Boat Out that is in keeping with appropriate health and safety guidance.
