Tawona Sithole is a freelance poet, playwright, creative consultant and facilitator, and musician. He is Poet-in-Residence at the University of Glasgow where his work has ranged from Global Health inductions to the School of Education. From Zimbabwe, sharing his heritage keeps him grounded and helps increase awareness of lesser-known perspectives of his experience as an African. He’s developed a contemporary and multilingual style of expression through mbira, spoken word and creative writing and drama where he often uses humour to challenge stereotypes and misinformation. He draws on challenging experiences such as racism and uses creative expression as a celebration, to build self-esteem, and to link cultures together.
